India is confronting a pandemic of ‘Coronavirus disease -2019’. In the lack of proper medicine and vaccine for the treatment of COVID-19, the government has forced the national lockdown from 25 march 2020 to avoid community transmission of coronavirus in people. Consequently, the educational institutes were also locked during this period and traditional classroom teaching turned to online teaching everywhere to neutralize the educational losses.

Online teaching has executed a vital role during the pandemic, but its consequences can not be neglected. The online classes can not be accessed by all the students due to the unavailability of smartphones, laptops, and mobiles network to particularly poor families and remote areas. This generates differentiation among the students of poor and rich or urban and rural. The learners below 14 years are not aware of the screen effect and get addicted to mobile that creates mental and eye problems.

Lack of motivation and a sense of self-discipline required to study online are some of the major conflicts that children face. A school classroom gives a structure and an environment of effective learning whereas learning at home lacks. This ensures a cycle for students striving to finish their homework, leading to a lack of motivation and lower goals for themselves. Hence, online teaching can not take the space of traditional classroom teaching for a long time and we will need to go back to traditional teaching after a pandemic ends.
