Using Akudo that comes with a prepaid card, rewards are also given under the gamified setup.

Lavika had said in this regard, 'In our society, there is no conversation in front of the children about the economic condition of the house. Along with this, people do not like to involve their children in financial discussions at home. The result is that they are financially ignorant when they become adults. That is why they need guidance on investment and basic financial management.

Add 1 lakh customers in 2021

Along with this, Lavika had said that, 'Akudo is very easy to use. At the same time, educational videos are given along with learning sessions for how to use it. They are rewarded as they progress through the levels of the gamification model.'

According to Y Combinator, Akudo claims to have added over 100,000 registered customers in september 2021. In addition, there was a 75% week-on-week increase in transaction volume during this period. Akudo also issued more than 25,000 cards.

Target to add 50 lakh customers

In september 2021, the startup raised $4.2 million led by JAFCO and Incubate India, according to Y Combinator. Akudo aims in 2022 to reach over 5 million households by the end of this year, with a greater focus on building open financial communication between parents and children.
