Environmentalists claim that the shooting of the Captain Miller movie, which stars actor dhanush, disrupts the birds at the state's recently recognized biological heritage site in Arittapatti, Madurai. However, the production firm refuted the claim and stated that they had permission from the authorities to film there.

Actor dhanush and director Arun Matheswaran have collaborated on the film "Captain Miller," which is said to be set in the 1930s or 1940s. Shivraj Kumar, a well-known kannada actor, plays a crucial role in this historical thriller with priyanka Mohan, sandeep Kishan, and other well-known actors. gv prakash created the music for this film, which was produced in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. The cast claims that the film, which is said to be about the war between indians and the British, has a big set and is now filming battle scenes.

In the Kalakad Mundanthurai tiger Reserve (KMTR) conservation area in the tenkasi district, there was a claim that a wooden bridge over the Chenkulam canal had been erected unlawfully, injuring the canal's banks and upsetting the animals. This was before the movie's production. It was also alleged that the crew employs high beam lights and bonfires in addition to filming action sequences with bomb blasts in areas governed by forests. The tenkasi district collector Durai Ravichandran then forbade the filming, stating that they lacked the required permits, which sparked a heated discussion among critics of the movie. After receiving the required approval, the 'Captain Miller' shoot later started.

In the end, the madurai district's Arittapatti, which has been designated a Biodiversity Zone, has voiced displeasure over the explosion scenes in "Captain Miller" being filmed there without the necessary authorization. The production team is apparently using speakers and contemporary technology while filming, which according to Ravichandran, president of the Arittapatti birds and wildlife preservation organisation, reportedly upsets the nearby birds by creating loud noises all day. Since Arittapatti is a refuge for several exotic species, Ravichandran explained, decibel levels would have an impact on how well the eggs hatch.
