Dileep, a malayalam actor, has filed a new petition in the kerala High Court, this time blocking further inquiry into the 2017 actress kidnapping and sexual assault case. dileep stated in his revised plea, filed on february 2, that the latest probe against him is an attempt to "wreck the trial" and prolong the case. The case was brought in order to put an end to the investigation.

According to the actor's plea, which was made through lawyer Philip T Varghese, the case file was filed in november 2017 and the charges were formulated in january 2020, therefore further research into the case was not permitted. Following recent details made by director Balachandra Kumar, dileep travels to kerala High Court. Balachandra released certain information and audio recordings related to the case, prompting a new investigation. Male voices may be heard planning an assault on the policemen conducting an investigation in one of the video. Following this, a second FIR was filed against Dileep, Suraj, Dileep's sibling Anoop, a man named 'VIP' by Balachandrakumar, and two other people.

Dileep claims that the fresh probe causes 'prejudice to build his argument,' according to sources in a leading news media. In addition, the actor, who is the main accused alongside six others, has stated that he deserves the same right to probe and that the current inquiry against him is "a malafide and illegal inquiry encroaching on his essential right to due process investigation."
