Now robots will clean the gutters, govt of this state woke up!

There is a talk about buying robots for cleaning gutters in Maharashtra. maharashtra minister Sanjay Shirsat says that the state government will buy 100 robots for cleaning gutters for 27 municipal corporations. This announcement has been made after the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment conducted a social audit of the cleaning work, in which the maharashtra government was reprimanded.

18 sanitation workers lost their lives

The audit has exposed the failure of the state government to deal with the problem of deaths of sanitation workers. In fact, the incident of death of sanitation workers while cleaning the gutter has been heard many times, due to which the decision to bring robots is being taken. The social audit conducted by the central government in Mumbai, Pune, Parbhani, Satara and Shirur has exposed the serious failures of officials and contractors in the safety of sanitation workers in Maharashtra. According to the audit, 18 sanitation workers lost their lives between 2021 and 2024.

Will buy 100 robots after successful trial

The audit said that safety rules, protective equipment and emergency arrangements were almost completely missing at all the five places surveyed. State Social Justice minister Sanjay Shirsat said while talking to reporters, 'We will first conduct a one-month trial with the new robot in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation. After successful trial, we will buy 100 robots. 'He said that the Social Justice Department will provide robots to the Urban Development Department, "after which the Urban Development Department will distribute them to the municipal corporations. Shirsat said, these new robots are indigenously manufactured and are more capable than the existing robots with less capacity. The robots we will buy will have more capacity for cleaning and waste separation.
