John Abraham's most recent film, 'The Diplomat', has discovered a new audience thanks to its OTT distribution, which followed its decent box office run. Why john abraham is Skeptical About OTT Projects
John Abraham recently discussed his concerns about working in the OTT industry with the Hindustan Times. The actor stated, "To do OTT, you need a very big office setup. You need a lot of people working towards something, where you don’t even own the IP of. You make a commission from the series and that goes into your overheads. Anybody who’s doing OTT today, they’ll tell you the same thing. So, I don’t see sense in breaking sweat on doing these series," he explained.
Nevertheless, the actor isn't entirely dismissing OTT. He admitted he could be open to producing a web series if the right story comes along.
He said, "Never say never, but at this point in time, I do not want to come on OTT as an actor for a series or an original film. I want to come on the big screen. In my head, I believe I was made for the big screen."
He quickly added that his view is based on personal choice and not a lack of respect for the medium. "I have a lot of respect for OTT channels because most of the content, at least internationally, and so much of the indian content like Paatal Lok is outstanding. I have so much of respect for the space, but I don't see myself yet in it," john said.
Up next, john abraham and filmmaker rohit shetty will work together on a thriller that is based on the life of former mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria. The untitled movie is anticipated to explore key junctures in Maria's remarkable career, such as his involvement in the investigations into the 1993 bombay explosions, the 26/11 mumbai attacks, and his interactions with the city's criminal underworld.
