The film, based on the real murder of Kanhaiya Lal in 2022, faced legal complications. Many people have claimed that some such things have been shown in this film, which could cause controversy.
On Saturday, amit Jani reported on X that he was getting repeated calls from an unknown number. The caller has threatened to blow him up or shoot him. Jani further said that the caller identified himself as Tabrez, a resident of Bihar. In his post, Jani demanded that the authorities register a case against the caller and arrest him. Jani has also tagged the Union home Minister and the Prime minister, as well as the UP Police, in this post.
Last month, the central government provided Y-category security to the producer of udaipur Files in delhi and Uttar Pradesh. He had said that his life was in danger.
Udaipur Files, starring Vijay raj in the role of Kanhaiya Lal, was earlier scheduled to release on July 11, but it was delayed due to censorship and legal hurdles. The supreme court had directed the delhi High court to settle the challenges filed against the approval given by the government for the release of the film.
The film is based on the 2022 murder of tailor Kanhaiya Lal, who was murdered by two men in broad daylight at his shop in udaipur, Rajasthan. He had reportedly made a social media post in support of former bjp member Nupur Sharma. Nupur Sharma had made controversial remarks on Prophet Mohammad during a debate show on a private news channel. Udaipur Files is directed by Bharat S Srinet and Jayant Sinha. It is produced by amit Jani.
