After some back-and-forth, Kapoor raised the offer from ₹9 lakhs to ₹11 lakhs.
The mother asked for ₹30,000 as staff money, which Kapoor increased to ₹50,000.
The ₹11 lakh fee came with a condition set by Sridevi’s mother.
Incremental Fee Increases for Blockbusters
Sridevi signed chandni for ₹15 lakhs after Kapoor spoke to yash Chopra.
For the next film, Sridevi’s mother offered ₹14 lakhs, but Kapoor countered with ₹16 lakhs on the condition that the next film’s fee would be ₹25 lakhs.
Consequently, sridevi was paid ₹25 lakhs for Khuda Gawah.

Sridevi was one of India’s most iconic actresses with a successful career spanning decades.
She passed away unexpectedly on february 24, 2018, in dubai at age 54.
The cause of death was ruled as accidental drowning, with heart failure as a contributing factor.
Her sudden demise deeply affected the indian film industry and her fans.
