Background
Following the success of her film “Thama,” actress rashmika mandanna is now busy promoting her next movie, “The Girlfriend.”
During the film’s promotions, she addressed the ongoing debate in the film industry regarding 8-hour work shifts.

🎤 rashmika Mandanna’s Statement
In an interview with Gulte, rashmika candidly shared her thoughts on the issue.
She said:
“I work too much, and that’s not right at all. Don’t do that. Do what works for you, work 8 hours, even 9–10 hours, because believe me, it will save you money later.”
The actress emphasized that while she often overworks, it’s not a healthy habit and should not be normalized.
Rashmika further added:
“I’ve heard a lot of talk about working hours recently. But I want the industry to adopt a 9 6 schedule. This will help maintain a balance in the lives of actors and crew.”
Her comments reflect growing awareness in the entertainment world about the importance of mental and physical well-being for everyone on set.
🔸 How the Controversy Started
The debate began when bollywood actress deepika padukone reportedly demanded an 8-hour shift after giving birth to her daughter.
When the request wasn’t approved, deepika decided to withdraw from the film “Spirit.”
Her move sparked widespread discussions in the industry about fair working hours and workplace flexibility.
Since then, several actors and filmmakers have voiced their support for shorter, structured shifts.
