Tamil Nadu chief minister MK stalin has announced that all media persons and journalists will be henceforth considered as the frontline workers. This is his first announcement and it came a day soon after the DMK won the assembly elections in tamil Nadu. This victory also means that DMK has ended ADMK's 10-year rule in the state.

MK stalin in his tweet posted that, "The entitlements and support that are being provided to frontline workers will be provided to the members of the media as well." Earlier West bengal chief minister mamata Bannerjee declared all media persons and journalists in the state as 'COVID Warriors' and her announcement came after madhya pradesh chief minister shivraj singh chouhan declared all journalists as frontline workers.

As per reports, 52 journalists have lost their lives to COVID-19 and 101 journalists have succumbed to this deadly virus. Despite all these risks that journalists face the Union government has not declared them as frontline workers. Due to this, the journalists never received vaccinations on a priority basis. MK stalin posted the entire tweet in the tamil language itself. Check out his tweet below in tamil language,
