The chennai bench of National Green Tribunal (NGT) has reportedly ordered the Union environment ministry officials and the krishna river Management Board (KRMB) to make a inspection visit to the rayalaseema lift irrigation project site(RILS) and submit a status report.

Considering the KRMB's affidavit that andhra pradesh was not cooperating in inspection of the site, NGT asked the officials to carry out the inspection regardless of AP's assistance.

On the other hand, the senior advocate of andhra pradesh government has informed the NGT bench that it is carrying out only preparatory works according to the tribunal's earlier order. Meanwhile, J Ramachandra Rao Additional advocate general of telangana has reportedly said the NGT should carry out an inspection on its own and further added that telangana will facilitate the  inspection visit by providing a helicopter and other necessary facilities.

During the hearing, the krishan River board said ap is asking about Telangana's projects which are built in violation of the andhra pradesh Reorganisation Act and they should be inspected before rayalaseema project and is seeking a full board meeting on decision.

The KRMB in its affidavit said, that it had written letters to andhra pradesh government twice in March, again on april 12 and recently in the July first week on the site inspection visit. But the ap govt
suggested that projects of telangana which built in violation of the ap Reorganisation Act should be inspected before rayalaseema project and sought a full board meeting on the same.
