New Delhi: The 22nd victory Day of Kargil is being celebrated across the country today. Visiting the Baramulla district of kashmir, President Ramnath Govind paid homage at the monument there. army Commander Bipin Rawat, who visited Kargil district like this, paid homage to the soldiers who died there. In Delhi, Defense minister Rajnath Singh and three battalion commanders were present.

The Kargil Diwas day is observed every year to honor the war heroes. Entitled 'Operation Vijay', the attack held on July 26, 1999, saw the indian army grabbing back control of key boundaries in Ladakh after evicting Pakistani bands from the area.
