The ongoing war of words between punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann and governor banwarilal purohit is not taking the

name of ending. Both sides are constantly taunting each other. Something similar happened on the occasion of 77th

Independence Day. cm Mann did not attend the formal 'at home' reception organized by governor Purohit. Taking a jibe at

this, the governor said that the chief minister chose not to attend the At home function. His decision is according to his own

understanding. The chief minister may have decided to skip the event, perhaps fearing the ceremonial cannons placed

outside the raj Bhavan.

The governor retaliated

governor banwarilal purohit was indirectly taking a jibe at the chief minister for his remarks in the assembly in June, in which

he mentioned that canons had been installed outside the raj bhavan to intimidate people. On the other hand, when the

governor was questioned by the media about the absence of cm Mann in the program, he said that various dignitaries

including the chief minister of punjab had been invited for the function. The Chief Minister's office had also duly confirmed

the receipt of the invitation.

Charge of defamation

Let us tell you that even before this, governor banwarilal purohit had accused cm Mann of tarnishing his image during the

assembly session held in June. The governor had said that derogatory language has been used for him. It has been said for

him that 'Letter likhta raha hai..vehla hai'. He said that no one can defame the Governor. governor Purohit said that the Chief

minister has to take care of his language, he cannot abuse me without any reason.
