Union minister Bhagwat Karad on friday placed a demand before the Eknath Shinde-led shiv sena regarding the Lok Sabha
elections. In fact, Karad says that the bharatiya janata party should be allowed to field a candidate from the Aurangabad
Lok Sabha seat as the split has weakened the party (Shiv Sena). Along with this, Bhagwat Karad has also expressed his
desire to contest from aurangabad seat.
Let us tell you that Chandrakant Khaire of the undivided shiv sena had won from aurangabad four times, but in the 2019
general elections he lost to Imtiaz Jalil of Asaduddin Owaisi's party All india Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM). Karad
told reporters, “Be it rural or urban, everyone wants bjp to field candidates from aurangabad in the 2024 Lok Sabha
elections. BJP's booth heads are working day and night to ensure victory."
Karad said, I am willing to contest from Aurangabad
Bhagwat Karad claimed, “The split has weakened the Shiv Sena. Now it has split into two groups under chief ministers
Eknath Shinde and uddhav thackeray (after the split in june last year)." Asked whether he is a contender for the
Aurangabad lok sabha seat, Karad said, "I am interested".
Seat sharing happened with undivided shiv sena in 2019
It is noteworthy that in 2019, the undivided shiv sena and bjp together contested the lok sabha seats in Maharashtra. BJP
contested on 25 and shiv sena on 23 seats. But this time bjp will contest on 48 seats in maharashtra along with Eknath
Shinde's shiv sena and Ajit Pawar's NCP. Although who will contest on how many seats, the situation is not clear yet.
