A special session of parliament is going on and discussion is going on in the lok sabha regarding Women’s
Reservation i.e. Nari shakti Vandan Act. During this time, there is a competition between Bharatiya Janata
party (BJP) and congress to take credit by passing this bill. It started yesterday when sonia gandhi said that
congress had brought the bill.
After this, bjp said that this is only the bill of the party and prime minister Narendra Modi. women will
continue to have their rights. At present, the Women’s Reservation Bill is being discussed in the new
parliament and it is expected that this bill will also be passed. On one hand, there is talk of reservation for
women, while on the other hand, most of the states in the country do not even have a woman Chief Minister.

since independence.
Female president
If we talk about becoming a woman President, till now there have been only two women in the country who
were elected for this post. The first woman President of the country was Pratibha Devi Singh Patil who held
this post from 25 July 2007 to 25 July 2012. She was the President during the Congress-led UPA government.
After this, draupadi murmu became the President during the current nda government under the leadership
of prime minister Narendra Modi. She is the first tribal woman to become the President.
Female prime minister
If we talk about a woman prime minister, the only woman PM of the country was Indira Gandhi. She was the
third prime minister of india who held this post for three consecutive innings from 1966 to 1977. After this,
he played the fourth innings from 1980 to 1984. He is murdered on 31 october 1984.
