Bihar chief minister nitish kumar has insisted that the population census should be started immediately across the country. The reservation bill for women has been tabled in Parliament. All political parties are supporting this. In that way, bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar's United Janata Dal party supported the reservation bill for women in Parliament. According to the bill, the system of 33 percent reservation for women will come into effect only after the implementation of population census and constituency re-delimitation.

                              

In this situation, bihar chief minister nitish kumar has insisted that the census should start immediately in the country and there should be no delay in starting it. nitish kumar made this comment while Union home minister and senior bjp leader amit shah told parliament that after the 2024 lok sabha elections, the census will begin. Also, "Census in the country should be completed in 2021 itself. But, it was delayed for the first time. So, why wait till 2024 for census?” nitish kumar questioned. He also insisted that the census work should be started immediately without further delay.


“We wanted to conduct caste-based census along with population census in the country. But the central government did not agree. So, we had to conduct our own caste-wise census.” nitish kumar also said. He said that caste-based census would benefit all sections of the society, adding that other social groups besides SCs and STs had been enumerated and information about their economic status had been collected. He said that majority of people shared their information without any hindrance. nitish kumar also pointed out that the information collected during the caste-based survey will help the government formulate policies and programs for the welfare of the economically backward sections.


Speaking about the reservation bill for women, bihar chief minister nitish kumar said, "It would be better if the proposals in the women's reservation bill are implemented in the country as soon as possible. I have always supported reservation for women. women should have strong representation. Our government has ensured adequate representation of women wherever possible." He said. He said that bihar is the first state in the country to have more representation for women. He also emphasized that SCs, STs, OBCs and Economically backward classes (EBCs) should be given due representation.
