Chikmagalur district of Kaffinad is the witness of the largest land scan in the state. This land scan of Kadur and Mudigere taluk is the largest in the state. Umesh who was Kadur Tahsildar has illegally accounted for 3500 acres while Mudigere Tahsildar Ramesh has illegally accounted for 2200 acres. Mudigere police have arrested two persons in connection with the case of illegal allotment of government land to private individuals. A trap has been laid for the arrest of two others. Based on a complaint filed by Mudigere Tehsildar Y. Thippeswamy at the Mudigere police station, the police arrested the two. The police have arrested Girish, who was formerly the revenue inspector in charge of Balur Hobali and the village accountant of Mudigere taluk, and Netra, a land operator. The police have laid a trap for the arrest of Shirastedar Palaya.

During the period of 2019 to 2021, when a person named Ramesh was Tehsildar in Mudigere, 7 people in survey No. 21 of Hadioni village of Balur Hobali, survey No. 164, 180 of Kove village, survey No. 41 of Kelaguru village, survey No. 87 of Bilagali village were illegally allotted government land to many people in this area. Mutation and Pahani were done directly without application, without presentation before the illegal due process committee and without giving right certificate. The Sub-Divisional Officers who conducted the inquiry had canceled some of the illegal accounts in the background of a complaint to the district Collector. In this regard, on the instructions given by Sub-Divisional Officer Rajesh to the Moodigere Tehsildar to file a case against the Tehsildar and the employees who had committed illegal acts, Tehsildar Thippeswami had filed a complaint against the four at Moodigere police station. Girish and Netra were arrested by the police on monday night. village accountant Girish had been suspended once before on charges of illegal land allotment. Tehsildar Ramesh, who was in the past, is waiting for the location and the R.R.T. in Mudigere. Palaya, who was the Headmaster, is currently working as Tehsildar in Hosadurga Taluk of Jitradurga District. It has been reported that 60 officials are involved in the Chikmagalur-Moodigere illegal land allotment case. However, no case is being registered against anyone. Now they are trying to close the case from people's minds by implementing 4(1). If the bjp government has committed a scam, the congress is covering it up, the farmers' union has lashed out against the government. Overall, Kafinada Kaduru-Moodigere is a witness to the incident of grazing the field by raising the fence itself.  In Kadur, reserved forest like tiger reserve has been granted, but in Mudigere, no application has been made, there is no clan-gotra. But the land is allotted. I don't know if the taluk level officials have made a record of that bravery and made a bounty. Who is the courage behind them is still a mystery. The investigation has already been speeded up and both the Forest and Revenue Departments are investigating and have issued notices to the concerned. If the investigation of the case goes in the right direction, we have to wait and see who will be among them.
