A man has been arrested for raping two minor boys in Hubballi, Karnataka.
A 47-year-old cook in Karnataka's Hubballi was arrested on tuesday for allegedly raping two minor boys and recording them on his mobile phone, police said on Wednesday. police identified the accused as Prapanhan from odisha and said he worked in a hotel in Hubballi and stayed in a rented house. According to the complaint, Prapanhan has been raping the girls since december last year. The matter came to light after the parents of the minor boys approached the police. According to the police, Prapanhan befriended the minors and took them to his rental by giving them snacks, chocolates and money. They are said to have threatened them with a knife and raped them.
According to the police, Prapanhan recorded the act on his cellphone with the help of another boy and threatened them of dire consequences if they divulged the incident to others. On tuesday, a case was registered under indian Penal Code sections 377 (offences unnatural) and 506 (2) (criminal intimidation); Sections 4 (penetrative sexual assault) and 6 (aggravated penetrative sexual assault) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act; And the case has been filed under sections like Section 66 (e) (violation of privacy) of the Information technology (IT) Act.
