Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav took over the reins of power with the swearing in on

Wednesday. In the cabinet meeting held on wednesday, many major decisions were taken at the administrative

level in the state and orders were also issued to implement them immediately. The special session of the 16th

Assembly in madhya pradesh will start from december 18 and will continue till december 21. This will be the

first session of cm Dr. Mohan Yadav’s government.

The first session of madhya pradesh assembly will start from december 18, in which the newly elected MLAs

of chief minister Mohan Yadav’s cabinet will take oath. An official said on thursday that during this 4-day

session of the 16th assembly, the newly elected members will take oath and during this time other important

business of the house will also be completed.

According to the official, on the first day of the assembly session, governor Mangubhai patel has appointed

ruling BJP's senior-most mla Gopal Bhargava as Protem Speaker to administer the oath of office to the new

MLAs and conduct the business of the house during the short session. The governor administered the oath of

office to Bhargava at a ceremony held at the raj bhavan here in the presence of chief minister Mohan Yadav

and others.

What is Protem Speaker?

Protem Speaker is a temporary Speaker of the assembly who is appointed for a limited period of time to

conduct the proceedings of the house in the absence of the regular Speaker (Assembly Speaker). Usually the

most senior member of the house is appointed as the pro tem speaker. Mohan Yadav, a three-time bjp MLA

from ujjain South, was sworn in as the new chief minister of madhya pradesh on wednesday along with two

MLAs, Jagdish Deora and Rajendra Shukla. In the madhya pradesh assembly elections held last month, BJP

retained its power in the state by winning 163 out of 230 seats. Opposition party Congress stood second with

victory in 66 assembly constituencies, while Bharat Adivasi party won one seat.
