Uddhav Thackeray’s messages…blow to Raju Shetty?

Shiv Sena (UBT) on wednesday announced four more candidates for the upcoming lok sabha elections, with Vaishali Darekar-Rane fielded from the high-profile kalyan constituency. The current mp from this seat is Shrikant Shinde, son of Eknath Shinde. The uddhav Thackeray-led party has so far announced candidates for 21 seats in Maharashtra, where voting will be held in five phases starting from april 19. thackeray also announced the candidature of Satyajit Patil from Hatkanangle, Bharti Kamdi from Palghar, and karan Pawar from Jalgaon constituency.

Thackeray said that if maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) ally congress is not willing to contest from the mumbai North constituency, his party will field a candidate from that seat. bjp has fielded Union minister Piyush Goyal from the mumbai North seat. Eknath Shinde-led shiv sena has not yet opened its cards on the kalyan seat. It is noteworthy that Darekar-Rane had contested the 2009 elections on the maharashtra navnirman sena (MNS) ticket from the kalyan seat against Shiv Sena's anand Paranjape.

She stood third by getting 1.02 lakh votes. thackeray said that Darekar-Rane and Bharti are grassroots workers of the Kaamdi Party. thackeray also indicated that shiv sena (UBT) would not trust the congress candidate declared for the prestigious Sangli constituency. The candidature of Chandrahar Patil of shiv sena (UBT) has created resentment. The congress wanted to field vishal Patil, grandson of former chief minister Vasantdada Patil, from its traditional bastion Sangli in western Maharashtra.

Thackeray said that shiv sena (UBT) has handed over its traditional Kolhapur and Ramtek seats to Congress. The congress is also upset that shiv sena (UBT) has fielded Anil Desai, a close aide of thackeray, whom it was eyeing, from the mumbai South-Central constituency. If our ally (Congress) is not willing to contest from mumbai North, then we will field a candidate from that seat. We are contesting on four (out of six) seats in Mumbai. thackeray said we want congress to win the remaining two seats in mumbai and shiv sena (UBT) workers will help them.
