IAS officer Parampal Kaur resigns, will she contest elections?


Shiromani Akali Dal leader Sikandar Singh Maluka's daughter-in-law and punjab cadre indian Administrative service (IAS) officer Parampal Kaur Sidhu has resigned. He has tendered his resignation amid speculations about joining the bharatiya janata party (BJP). Parampal was a 2011 batch IAS officer. She was scheduled to retire in october this year.

There is speculation that Parampal may contest elections from the bathinda lok sabha seat on a bjp ticket. Maluka is a senior leader of the Akali Dal and has also held the post of education minister in the Akali government. Sidhu was currently the Managing director of punjab State Industrial Corporation. SAD leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal is the mp from Bathinda's seat. Voting for 13 lok sabha seats of punjab will be held on june 1 and the results will come on june 4, 2024. There is aam aadmi party government here. At the same time, talks between AAP and congress, which are part of the india alliance, could not be reached in punjab, hence both are fielding their candidates separately.


Let us tell you that the bjp announced the names of candidates for 6 seats in punjab a few days ago. Sushil Kumar Rinku, who joined the bjp from the aam aadmi party, was also named in this list. Apart from this, Congress's Ravneet Singh Bittu and delhi party's mp Hans raj Hans have also been given tickets. Not only this, Preneet Kaur, former congress mp and wife of former punjab Chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh, has got the ticket from Patiala.
