Bangladesh's Jamaat-e-Islami has demanded a separate country for Rohingyas. It put forward a proposal to the Chinese Communist party (CCP) and said that just providing food, clothes and shelter is not enough. Rohingyas are living a very inhuman life, so they should be sent back to their land Myanmar and an independent Arakan should be created for them.

Jamaat-e-Islami leader Syed Abdullah Mohammad Tahir has put forward this proposal to the Chinese Communist party at City Hotel in Dhaka. A three-member delegation led by Peng Xiubin, in-charge of South and South east Asia affairs of the Chinese party, reached Bangladesh. Syed Abdullah Tahir told reporters after the meeting, 'There are 11 to 12 lakh Rohingyas in bangladesh, who are living in inhuman conditions. Just giving them food, clothes or shelter is not the solution. The solution is to send them back to their country and resettle them. For this reason, we have proposed to create an independent Arakan country in the Rohingya-dominated area of Arakan.'

Syed Abdullah Tahir said that China can play an important role in this matter because it has good relations with Myanmar. He said that this proposal was given so that no one has a hostile attitude towards each other. He said that regional security was also discussed in the meeting.

Syed Abdullah Tahir said that this was a party to party meeting and it was an opportunity for Jamaat-e-Islami to strengthen relations with the CCP. Jamaat-e-Islami also talked to the Chinese party for investment in the construction of Teesta Barrage, Second Padma River Bridge and Deep sea Port. They have also requested to provide scholarships on a large scale for Bangladesh students.

Syed Abdullah Tahir said that the Chinese representatives also wanted to know about the Bangladesh elections, when and how the elections will be held. He said that beijing does not interfere in the internal affairs of any country and the same policy is for bangladesh as well.
