Senior Samajwadi party (SP) leader and former minister Shivpal Singh Yadav said that the time has come for india to take back 'Pakistan occupied Kashmir' (PoK). Yadav had arrived in Gonda on sunday to attend a private event. He said, "BJP had promised in the elections that it would merge PoK with india, but till date no concrete action has been taken."
Shivpal Yadav said that the indian government should take action on every area that is part of India. He also stressed that the Samajwadi party stands with the government on this issue, but nothing will happen with just talks. Yadav questioned the role of the government regarding the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir.
He said, "Whenever there have been terrorist attacks in the country, the Samajwadi party has always stood with the nation and opposed terrorism, but it is worrying that despite all the security claims, how did the terrorists enter the country. Where were the intelligence agencies? The government should answer this." In his address during the program, Yadav described the Karni Sena as an 'organization with a terrorist mindset'.
Referring to the threat given to rajya sabha member Ramjilal Suman, he said, "If an organization publicly threatens to kill an mp, then it will be considered an organization with a terrorist mindset." Yadav questioned why the bjp government is protecting such tendencies?
Yadav, who came to Gonda, also reacted to the action taken against madrasas and the ban on the famous Dargah fair of Bahraich. He called it a direct attack on religious freedom. Yadav said that stopping a tradition that has been going on for 500 years is a very unfortunate and biased decision. He alleged that the bjp government talks about religion only for show, in reality it is engaged in breaking communal harmony.
On the statement of former bjp mp Brij bhushan Sharan Singh that MLAs have no status in the government, Yadav said that when senior leaders of the ruling party talk about killing democracy, it proves that the present government is tearing apart the dignity of public representatives.
