The indian Coast Guard successfully rescued an American ship that was stranded in the middle of the sea near the andaman and Nicobar Islands.
A US tugboat was damaged yesterday due to the fierce sea waves 52 nautical miles southeast of Indira Point in the andaman and Nicobar Islands. Information was immediately sent to the National Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre in Port Blair. Accordingly, the indian Coast Guard launched a rescue operation. With the help of the ICGS rescue ship, the exercise to rescue the American ship and its two passengers was intensified.
"The indian Coast Guard saved two US nationals stranded in a distressed yacht, a US-flagged sailing vessel, sea Angel, about 53 miles south of the Nicobar Islands. On receipt of a distress message via the US Consulate at Chennai, ICG Ship Rajveer was deployed & responded to the distress situation, navigating through rough sea conditions," ICG said. Despite strong winds and technical problems, the indian Coast Guard successfully towed the ship to Campbell Bay today. The indian Coast Guard is being praised for its efforts to rescue a US ship stranded in the middle of the ocean within 48 hours.
