Priya Sachdev addressed the delhi High court during the latest hearing in the inheritance case involving late industrialist Sunjay Kapur.
Her legal team denied accusations that school fees for Karisma Kapoor’s daughter had not been paid.
Lawyers for Karisma and her children earlier claimed that two months’ fees amounting to ₹95 lakh were outstanding.
Senior Advocate Shyel Trehan, representing priya, stated the allegation was “factually incorrect.”
Trehan informed the court that the semester fees had already been cleared and showed proof of payment.
Priya’s counsel emphasized that she has been covering all educational and living expenses of the children independently since Sunjay’s death.
The court was told that the next installment of school fees is due in December.
🔹 priya Sachdev’s Legal Team Calls Allegations Baseless
The hearing follows earlier remarks by Priya’s lawyer Rajiv Nayar, who responded to allegations from Sunjay’s mother, rani Kapur.
Rani Kapur had implied possible concealment or misrepresentation of Sunjay’s assets.
Nayar dismissed the accusations as “baseless and reckless.”
He stated that he has filed a detailed list of Sunjay’s assets, covering every transaction.
He further clarified that “no money has been moved abroad”, countering suggestions of illicit transfers.
The rebuttal adds to increasing tensions between family members.
🔹 Sunjay Kapur’s Children Fight for Share in Estate
Following Sunjay Kapur’s passing, his estate has become the center of a prolonged inheritance battle.
Sunjay’s children with actor karisma kapoor — Samaira and Kiaan — have approached the delhi High Court, pursuing their legal share in their father’s property.
Filed through their mother, the petition alleges that priya Sachdev forged Sunjay’s will.
The children have requested the court to restrict priya from modifying, transferring, or disposing of assets until the matter is resolved.
Although karisma kapoor is not directly a litigant, she is appearing in court as the representative of her minor children.
