Former President donald trump announced a US military operation targeting a drug-smuggling submarine in the Caribbean.
The strike resulted in two suspects killed and two others captured.

He emphasized the submarine was on a well-known narcotrafficking route.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro confirmed that one captured suspect was returned to Colombia.
Petro stated:
> “We are glad he is alive and he will be prosecuted according to the law.”
Ecuador also acknowledged the return of its detained national.

The strike is part of a broader US-led crackdown on narcotrafficking in the Caribbean.
Since September, at least six smuggling vessels, mostly speedboats, have been intercepted or destroyed.
