In an innovative initiative, four first-year B.Tech students in Uttar Pradesh have designed a unique safety device for women—a pair of earrings that double as Bluetooth-enabled security devices. The earrings, weighing 35 grams and priced at Rs. 1650, contain a Bluetooth module, a battery, two switches, and a small steel pipe. The device is equipped to send the wearer's location in case of danger, enhancing personal safety.

The four engineering students—Afreen Khatoon, Bhamiba, Riyasingh, and Faya Noori—collaborated on this project to address the issue of harassment and empower women with a discreet yet effective safety tool. The earrings feature a small button that, when pressed, triggers an alert mechanism to inform pre-set emergency contacts about the wearer's location. Additionally, two alarm switches are incorporated into the design.

These innovative earrings have gained attention for their practical and affordable solution to enhance women's safety. The students' creation showcases the potential of leveraging technology to address societal challenges and provides an accessible means for women to seek help when faced with harassment or danger. If produced on a larger scale, these earrings could serve as a valuable safety tool for women across different regions.
