While there is fear and mistrust about nuclear weapons in the world, china has developed a new technology that can bring a big change in this direction. Chinese scientists have created an AI (Artificial Intelligence) system that can differentiate between real and fake nuclear weapons and that too without revealing any confidential information. It has been claimed about this technology that it is the world's first AI based nuclear weapon detection system, which can tell the truth about the weapon without looking at its design. This technology has been developed by scientists of the china Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE) and its information has recently come out in a report by the South china Morning Post.

What is the specialty of this AI technology?

The more complex the name of this AI system, the more revolutionary its work is. The name is, "Verification Technical Scheme for Deep Learning Algorithm Based on Interactive zero Knowledge Protocol". In simple words, this technology detects whether the weapon is real or not by reading the radiation emitted from the weapon. There is no need for the design or secret information of the weapon. For this, scientists have made a polyethylene wall with 400 holes, which is placed between the weapon and the testing machine. This wall allows the radiation to pass but keeps the design of the weapon hidden. Then the AI system understands this data and takes a decision.

How was the training done?

Scientists used Monte Carlo simulation to teach this AI. In this, millions of virtual nuclear weapons were created, some like real and some fake. The AI studied them in depth and learned to identify which one is real and which one is fake based on the radiation pattern.

Why is this technology necessary?

In today's era, when countries like America, russia and china have thousands of nuclear weapons, there are talks about controlling them and reducing their number. But the problem is that no country wants to give confidential information about its weapons to the other. The systems currently in use require heavy security arrangements and mutual trust, which is often not achieved. This AI technology from china can fill this lack of trust. With this, weapons can be tested without revealing any secrets.
