A major accident occurred due to the collapse of an old iron bridge in Pune, Maharashtra. A 30-year-old iron bridge built on the Indrayani river collapsed on sunday (15 June) in Kundmala (Induri) area of Maval taluka of the district. More than 100 tourists were present on the bridge at the time of the accident. He said, "Earlier the statue installed by the prime minister has fallen and now the ground of the platform of the new statue has collapsed. This shows that there is gross negligence with the memory of Shivarais. With what face will the government give clarification now?" He also added that this is not respect, but insult, and accountability should be fixed for this.
These people lost their lives
Let us tell you that so far 4 people have died in the accident and 51 are reported to be injured. Those who lost their lives in the incident include Chandrakant Sathle, Rohit Mane, Vihaan Mane and an unidentified man who has not been identified. Along with the local administration, NDRF, CRPF, PMRDA fire brigade and other organizations are also showing promptness in relief and rescue operations.
The injured have been admitted to four nearby private hospitals (Pavana Hospital, Maymar Hospital, Atharva Hospital, Unique Hospital). A part of the bridge has been taken out of the river, but many bikes are still stuck on the bridge. According to the government report, the age of the collapsed bridge was about 30 years and it was an important route connecting two villages. Now this bridge has been completely closed and investigation is going on.
