Lemon Pepper fish is a light, flavorful dish where fish fillets are marinated with zesty lemon juice, cracked black pepper, and aromatic herbs, then pan-fried or baked to perfection. It’s perfect as a healthy main course or a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients:

· 500 grams fish fillets (like tilapia, cod, or salmon)

· 2 tablespoons lemon juice

· 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional, for extra tang)

· 1 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper

· 1 teaspoon garlic powder or 1 tablespoon minced garlic

· 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional, for color and mild flavor)

· 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

· 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter

· Fresh parsley or coriander leaves, chopped (for garnish)

· Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Fish:
Wash and pat dry the fish fillets. Ensure they are of even thickness so they cook uniformly.

2. Marinate:
In a small bowl, combine lemon juice, lemon zest, black pepper, garlic, paprika, salt, and olive oil. Rub this mixture evenly over both sides of the fish fillets. Let the fish marinate for at least 15–20 minutes. For stronger flavor, marinate up to 1 hour in the refrigerator.

3. Cook the fish (Pan-Fry Method):

o Heat a non-stick or cast-iron pan over medium heat.

o Add a teaspoon of olive oil or butter.

o Place the fillets in the pan and cook for 3–4 minutes on each side, depending on thickness, until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.

Or Oven-Bake Method:

o Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).

o Place marinated fillets on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

o Bake for 12–15 minutes until cooked through and slightly golden on top.

4. Serve:
Transfer the cooked fish to a serving plate. Garnish with fresh parsley or coriander leaves and lemon wedges. Serve hot with steamed rice, sautéed vegetables, or a fresh salad.

Tips:

· Adjust black pepper according to your spice preference.

· You can add a sprinkle of chili flakes for extra heat.

· Ensure not to overcook the fish; it should remain moist and flaky.

Lemon Pepper fish is a refreshing, tangy, and protein-rich dish, perfect for a light yet satisfying meal.
