The japan international Cooperation Agency (JICA) has set out Rs 1,500 crore for madurai AIIMS Hospital, out of a total project budget of Rs 1,977 crore. As a result, the central government has informed the public that construction work will begin soon. The AIIMS facility in madurai, which was announced in the 2015 budget, has yet to be built in the state of tamil Nadu.

Prime minister Narendra Modi lay the foundation stone for the madurai AIIMS Hospital in Toppur on january 27, 2019, after overcoming numerous challenges. However, JICA, which promised to give a loan to help implement the project, has yet to do so. However, in the Ramanathapuram Medical college in the nearby area, the madurai AIIMS Hospital Medical college has begun with 50 students.

The state government has donated 222 acres of land in Toppur, madurai, for the development of AIIMS. Only the roads prepared for Ames, not the building, appear to be gleaming. On march 26, india inked a financial arrangement with Japan's JICA to construct AIIMS Hospital. The Japanese international Cooperation Agency (JICA) will supply 82 percent of the cash. The federal government contributes the remaining 18%.
