On january 12, Mahesh Babu's guntur Kaaram, one of the most anticipated films from the extensive Sankranthi roster, debuted in theatres. According to a Sacnilk article, despite being a mahesh babu starring, the trivikram Srinivas-directed movie did not perform as expected. However, it did make ₹126.62 crores locally and ₹180.5 crores globally. At first, pooja hegde was meant to play the same character in the movie, which stars Sreeleela as the female protagonist.

Guntur Kaaram was filmed in short by pooja hegde before she withdrew from the project. Currently, images from her time on set are available online. In one of the pictures, Sreeleela is seen candidly posing with mahesh babu and Pooja. Many fans are curious about how the movie may have turned out if pooja had played the major role.
The producers elevated Sreeleela from the role of the second female lead to the lead when pooja left. Eventually, Meenakshi Choudhary was cast in Sreeleela's original role. As a result, Meenakshi took over for Raji, and Sreeleela, who was originally expected to play the part of Raji, ended up playing the more substantial character of Ammu. pooja Hegde's departure from guntur Kaaram was due to a simple scheduling conflict concerning dates rather than an unsolved dispute or altercation.
