The re-release of salman Khan's 1999 bollywood blockbuster "Biwi No. 1" has sadly underperformed, earning a meager Rs. 7 Lakhs on its first day of release. This disastrous opening performance took place on cinema Lovers Day, which is known for offering steep discounts on movie tickets, which only served to stoke the flames.

The original release, which was directed by david dhawan and starred salman khan, Karisma Kapoor, and Sushmita Sen, was a huge hit and earned Rs. 52.80 crores worldwide, making it a cult classic. On the other hand, it appears that the re-release is having trouble drawing crowds to the theaters; estimates suggest that its overall revenue will not even reach Rs. 25 lakhs.

However, other re-releases, like as "Kal Ho Naa Ho" and "Veer Zaara" by SRK, are performing far better. "Kal Ho Naa Ho" is expected to make at least Rs. 5 crores after a solid opening of Rs. 12 lakhs. Veer Zaara has also surpassed all expectations, collecting Rs. 20 lakhs on its first day of release.

The huge disparity unavoidably rekindled the salman vs. SRK controversy, with many social media users asserting that SRK is a far greater celebrity than salman because of his capacity to attract audiences of all ages. Additionally, many commented on Biwi No. 1, with some voicing their support for the nostalgia and others fiercely condemning it, claiming that its humor was incredibly out of date. Even while the film business is prone to ups and downs, the two actors' striking difference will undoubtedly spark conversations among Bollywood's top thinkers.
