One of the lethal rounds involving Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) and the other survivors is shown in the first Squid Game season 3 trailer. Gi-hun's quest to permanently halt the games and save as many players as he can is expected to come to an end in the popular Netflix survival series. But in the season 2 finale of Squid Game, his revolt plot was foiled by the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun). After momentarily posing as one of the players, the Front Man is also anticipated to return to his duties. The Netflix series is currently getting ready for Gi-hun and the Front Man's climactic confrontation.

The first trailer for Squid Game season three has now been released on Netflix.  Inside the bunker, a group of pink guards carry a black box with a pink ribbon, which turns out to hold Gi-hun.  The main focus of the teaser is a new game in which participants are randomly given a red or blue ball from the gumball machine, though another snippet depicts the protagonist also chained up.  In addition, the chamber features a knife-shaped entry hall that suggests what the next round might be.  After a few brief shots of additional characters, such as Guard 011/No-uel (Park Gyu-young), the trailer concludes with a baby's cries.

Netflix released still photos of the characters and fresh teaser art in addition to the trailer.  As Yong-sik (Yang Dong-geun) and his mother, Geum-ja (Kang Ae-shim), appear to be consoling one another, Jun-hee (Jo Yu-ri) is seen choosing a red ball.  However, a teaser poster depicts Gi-hun encircled by black boxes that are most likely filled with the athletes that have passed away.
