The Disaster Management Department of the Ministry of Telecommunications has asked the telecom companies to continue the work of BTS locations within 100 kilometers of the international border without any interruption. At the same time, telecom companies have been ordered to maintain connectivity without any problem. The department has stressed to all companies to maintain connectivity of state and district-level emergency operation centers.

For this, the companies have also been asked to work together. In the meeting held after Operation Sindoor, telecom companies have been asked to pay special attention to network connectivity in border areas. Apart from this, these companies have also been asked to make a list of places that can be kept operational in all circumstances in case of an emergency.
The department, in its order, has directed the telecom companies to strictly follow the Standard Operating Procedure of 2020. It should be followed with immediate effect, and necessary action should be taken. Apart from this, the ministry has directed all LSA heads of the Department of Telecommunications to talk to the state governments and facilitate the movement of logistics of telecom companies in case of emergency, and ensure their safety.
