The Russo Brothers and Marvel Studios are seeking to cast the MCU's Ghost Rider in Avengers: Doomsday, according to news reports earlier this week. It is anticipated that this will be Earth-616's Spirit of Vengeance, much like Captain America: Civil war introduced tom Holland's Spider-Man, even if the film will contain plenty of Multiversal lunacy. The question is, who will replace Nicolas Cage as johnny Blaze?

Insider @MyTimeToShineH claims that Ryan Gosling, star of The Fall Guy, La La Land, and Barbie, is being considered by Marvel Studios to portray the ferocious anti-hero.  Naturally, it doesn't guarantee he'll accept, but it's not shocking to hear that Kevin Feige is keen to cast a well-known actor.

In any case, Gosling has stated that he would be interested in playing the lead in a superhero film.  Ghost Rider has also drawn interest from the three-time oscar nominee.  Kevin Feige responded, "Hey man, if Ryan wants to be Ghost Rider...Gosling's unbelievable," when questioned about it.  Ryan is incredible.  I'd really like to see him in the MCU.

When Gosling was informed of the Marvel Studios President's endorsement while promoting The Fall Guy with Emily Blunt last year, he reacted, "This was a magical moment."  I expressed my desire to play Ghost Rider to Josh.  He located Kevin Feige, cornered him, and conducted an interview.  'I would like this,' he says, and all the lights go out. When asked if there has been any significant progress on that front, a stoic Gosling said, "I don't know."
