The congress mp also raised the issue of delay in payment of scholarships to students from marginalized communities after passing matriculation.
Rahul gandhi has appealed to the prime minister to pay immediate attention to these two issues related to students. He has written in his letter that the education of 90 percent of students coming from marginalized communities is hampered due to scholarships and hostels.
Referring to his experience of the bihar tour, Rahul said, that during a recent visit to Ambedkar Hostel in Darbhanga, bihar, students complained. 6-7 students are forced to live in a single room. The toilets are in a bad condition. Drinking water is also unsafe. Canteen facilities are not available. Basic services like libraries or the internet are also missing.
Rahul said students coming from marginalized communities are not getting scholarships on time after matriculation. Citing the example of bihar, rahul claimed in his letter that the scholarship portal remained stalled for three years. No student received a scholarship in 2021-22.
