In the smartphone era, we have brought everything into our hands through technology. It has come to a point where anyone can know all our information just by using our cell phone. We operate everything from banking apps to information exchange apps through smartphones. In this modern era, there can be no one who does not have an account on Facebook, google, etc. It is impossible to use a smartphone without google Gmail. This technological development has also posed a great danger. It has been revealed that more than 19 billion password details of apple, Facebook, google, etc. accounts have been leaked globally. forbes magazine has published a news report on this.
Password Leak: It is our duty to keep the passwords of our Gmail, Facebook, etc. accounts safe without telling anyone. If anyone knows this information, they can easily hack into our phones and find out confidential information, including the money in our bank account, pictures, videos on the phone, etc.

19 billion accounts at risk: It has been revealed that the passwords of more than 19 billion users have been stolen recently. A report published by forbes states that the passwords stolen in this way are being sold for millions of dollars. This information is used for cybercrime fraud. In an interview with Webnews, Villiers, the head of the website, said that an investigation conducted by his company's analysts has found that the passwords of those who have accounts on Facebook, google, and apple have been stolen since the beginning of 2025.

Leak in 6 months: He said that in total, the passwords of 16 billion accounts have been stolen in these six months alone, calling it the largest data theft in history. He said that many sensitive information such as passwords of social media sites, VPN sites, and accounts used by various businesses have been stolen and leaked in the public domain.

Big danger: He has said that this should not be taken as just a password leak. He warns that fraudsters can use this information to take money from our accounts. He says that our social media accounts can be used for wrongdoings. Darren, CEO of Keeper Security, who has said that such cyber attacks will increase from now on, says that this is a small example of the problems we are going to face in this online era. He says that people should use strong and unique passwords and should change the passwords of the accounts they use from time to time. Instead of using a traditional password to log in, he advises using the Passkey service provided by companies such as Google.

Passkey is also a login system, but we do not log in using a password. We can only log in using biometrics. A passkey will be created for google accounts through our smartphones. That is, our biometric information such as fingerprints and facial recognition will be registered as a passkey on smartphones. When we log in on other devices, we can only log in if we authenticate with this passkey on registered smartphones. google says that since the biometric information is stored only on your phone, no one can access your account.
