In seven hours, this train travels 384 kilometers between Gorakhpur and Patliputra. This indicates that it travels at a mere 54 km/h on average. The Vande Bharat between mumbai CSMT and Shirdi used to be the slowest, traveling at about 64 km/h.
So far, there has been a very dismal response to the Gorakhpur-Patliputra Vande Bharat. It is not even filling half of its seats. Its poor speed and expensive tickets in comparison to other trains can be one factor. While a seat in the Executive Class costs Rs. 1820, a seat in the AC Chair car costs Rs. 925.
By 10:30 PM, the train arrives in Gorakhpur after departing Patliputra at 3:30 PM. hajipur, Muzaffarpur, Motihari, Sugauli, Bettiah, Narkatiaganj, Bagaha, and Kaptanganj are among the stations it stops at along the route. Except Saturday, it operates every day of the week.
Why passengers are skipping this Vande Bharat train
There is currently a quicker and less expensive option: The Patliputra-Lucknow Express costs just Rs. 520 and takes 4 hours and 55 minutes to complete the same journey from Patliputra to Gorakhpur. It departs Patliputra at 4:30 p.m. and arrives in Gorakhpur at 9:15 p.m., five days a week.
The Vande Bharat departs Patliputra at 3:30 p.m., which is bad scheduling for another local train. The Patna-Jaynagar train leaves 15 minutes later and makes stops in hajipur and Muzaffarpur. Instead, passengers going to such towns opt for the less expensive Patna-Jaynagar train.

The new Vande Bharat service is having trouble drawing passengers on this route because it is slower than anticipated, departs at an inconvenient time, and is significantly more expensive than other trains.
The fastest Vande Bharat trains
In tests, a Vande Bharat train can travel up to 180 km/h. However, trains typically move significantly more slowly in india because the country's tracks are still in need of improvement. Officials restrict the trains' regular speed to 130 km/h. The average speed is roughly 83 km/h due to stops and slow parts.
At the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai, the Railways' research group, RDSO, creates the Vande Bharat trains.
