Air india Flight Bomb Threat
A flight coming from mumbai to delhi created a stir when a crew member found a tissue paper in the cabin on which a bomb threat was written. According to the information, the crew member of flight number 2954 saw a message on the tissue paper that read "Air india 2948 @ T3 has a bomb". Security agencies were immediately alerted as soon as this information was received. Delhi Fire Department received the call at 4:42 am, after which security checks were started. The bomb squad and other security agencies conducted a search operation and after investigation, this call was declared a 'hoax' i.e. false information.
Air India's statement
After receiving information about the bomb threat, air india issued a statement saying - "A non-specific security alert was detected on one of our aircraft. Standard security procedures were duly followed and the aircraft has been cleared for the next flight. air india gives top priority to the safety of its passengers and crew."
Recently another flight had received a threat
On 13th June, air india flight AI-379 had to make an emergency landing at Phuket international airport in Thailand. This flight was coming from Phuket to Delhi. It had to make an emergency landing after a bomb threat was received. The airport administration took immediate action and implemented the airport Contingency Plan (ACP). There were 156 passengers on board the flight.
