The police have registered a case against director Pa. Ranjith in the incident where stunt artist Mohanraj died during the shooting. A case has been registered against Pa. Ranjith, Vinoth, stunt director Rajkamal, Neelam Productions, and Prabhakaran at the Keezhayur police station under sections 289, 125, 106 (1) of the indian Penal Code. The tragic incident took place during the shooting of Pa. Ranjith's Vettuvam.
The incident took place on sunday morning in Alappakudi under Keezhayur police station limits in Nagapattinam district. A stuntman named Mohanraj (52) died in a car accident while shooting a stunt sequence in which a car overturns. Mohanraj hails from the Poongandam area of kanchipuram district. He was rushed to Nagapattinam government Medical college Hospital immediately after the accident. But he could not be saved. The All india Film workers Association (AICWA) had demanded that a case be registered against Pa. Ranjith and the producers of the film in this regard.
The association has also demanded financial assistance of one crore rupees to Mohanraj's family. The association has accused the film shooting sites of not following safety protocols to reduce the cost of film production. It has been announced that a petition will be submitted to tamil Nadu chief minister M.K. stalin in this regard. Actor Vishal, stunt director Stunt Silva, and others have expressed shock over the incident.
Vishal took to twitter to say, "I couldn't accept the news that Raju passed away while shooting a fight. I have known Raju for many years. He has done many dangerous stunts in my films. He was very brave. My tribute to him. May god give his family the strength to bear this loss. Not just this tweet, I will definitely be with the family on their future journey. That is my duty."

In his condolence message, Stunt Silva mentioned that Mohanraj was one of the most important stunt actors who jumped out of cars in films. Our association and the indian film industry will miss him, Stunt Silva said. Meanwhile, reports suggest that Pa. Ranjith and arya are jointly producing the second part of Sarbatta Paramparai. The film will be released in theaters next year.
