wednesday (16 July 2025). However, it had to make an emergency landing at
mumbai airport. An official related to the matter said on the condition of anonymity that the pilot of the aircraft issued a Pan Pan Pan signal during the flight due to a malfunction in engine number 1. This signal indicates a serious but not life-threatening technical emergency.
There were 191
people on board the flight. Meanwhile, the flight landed safely in
mumbai at 9:53 pm. All passengers and crew are safe. Let us tell you that Pan-Pan is an
international emergency radio signal, which indicates a less than Mayday but serious technical situation. When the pilot saw the engine malfunction, he requested
mumbai Air Traffic Control to change the route at 9:32 pm. Ambulances and
fire engines were deployed as per the standard operating procedure (SOP). The plane landed safely at 9:53 am, two minutes ahead of schedule.
IndiGo issued a statement
In a statement issued by
indigo regarding the matter, it was said that due to technical fault during the flight from
delhi to
goa on July 16, 2025, the route of the aircraft was changed and landed in Mumbai. All procedures were followed. The statement further said that a complete technical check will be done before taking the aircraft back into service.
indigo has apologized to the passengers for the inconvenience and praised the pilot and crew for landing everyone safely.
