Charlie Kirk, a prominent right-wing activist and close ally of President donald trump, was shot dead while speaking at a public event at Utah Valley university on Wednesday.


The shooting occurred in broad daylight in the university courtyard, during a speech on social issues.


A viral video shows Kirk speaking into a microphone when he is suddenly shot, causing panic and chaos among attendees.


🚨 Suspect Arrested After Surrendering

On Friday, President trump confirmed that the suspect has been taken into custody.


Trump told Fox news that the suspect surrendered voluntarily, and someone “very close to him” played a key role in turning him in.


The suspect reportedly walked into police headquarters and gave himself up without resistance.


🕵️ FBI Investigation and Evidence Found


On thursday evening, the FBI released two images of a man suspected in the shooting.


The suspect was seen wearing a hat, dark sunglasses, and a black full-sleeve shirt.


Law enforcement recovered a Mauser .30 caliber bolt-action rifle, wrapped in a towel, from a forested area near the campus.


The rifle had one used cartridge and three additional bullets in the magazine.


All recovered items are being analyzed in a federal forensic laboratory.

President trump has announced he will award charlie Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom, America’s highest civilian honor.


Trump praised Kirk’s contributions, calling him instrumental in the Republican victory in 2024 and in shaping the current administration.

Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha Vance will travel to salt Lake City to meet Kirk’s family.


Vance shared on X (formerly Twitter) that his friendship with Kirk began in 2017, and that Kirk played a vital role in the conservative movement.

The incident has sparked fresh concerns over growing political violence in the U.S.
