The Hindu Munnani organization has issued a public call urging devotees to participate in the traditional Karthigai Deepam lighting ceremony at the Thiruparankundram hilltop on November 30.

Karthigai Deepam, one of the most ancient and significant festivals in tamil tradition, is celebrated with lamps symbolizing divine light, spiritual awakening, and the triumph of good over evil. The festival holds a special place in Saivite culture, with hilltop lamps (malaip deepam) being a major highlight in many sacred locations across tamil Nadu.

According to Hindu Munnani representatives, preparations are underway to ensure that the deepam lighting at Thiruparankundram is conducted with proper rituals, safety measures, and traditional observances. The group has requested devotees, local residents, and volunteers to join the event and contribute to maintaining the spiritual sanctity of the occasion.

They emphasized that the lighting of the deepam atop Thiruparankundram Hill is not only a religious ritual but also a continuation of a long-standing cultural legacy. The organization has urged participants to gather peacefully, follow local administrative guidelines, and uphold the discipline associated with hill temple traditions.

The ceremony is expected to attract a large number of devotees, given the historical and spiritual significance of Thiruparankundram—one of the six sacred abodes (Arupadai Veedu) of Lord Murugan.
