Due to the fact that only 19% of vaccination was done under the primary health centre, the medical officer from Siddhanath Wadgaon in Gangapur taluka, Dr Chitra Premnath Birhade was suspended by the district Collector on Tuesday.


Aurangabad: The medical officer at Siddhanath Wadgaon in Gangapur taluka, Dr Chitra Premnath Birhade was suspended by the district Collector on Tuesday. 


Birhade has been blamed for not being able to speed up vaccination as he did not stay at the headquarters despite repeated instructions. The chief executive officer had recommended that action be taken against some medical officers whose vaccinations had been reduced. 

The medical officer has been accused of negligence in national affairs. This is the first time medical officers have been suspended due to low vaccination.


The tehsildar had again visited the primary health centre on monday after the chief executive officer informed him that the medical officer at Siddhanath Wadgaon was not present. 

When Dr. Chitra Birhade was absent. In this primary health centre, the proportion of people who took the first dose of vaccination was 69% and the proportion of people who took the second dose was only 19%. 


The night vaccination was not carried out as the medical officer was not present. Therefore, this action has been taken. The incident has caused a stir in the health department.

The city of aurangabad is also following the rules that those who come to petrol pumps and malls should not be allowed to enter without having a second-degree certificate. 


As the pace of vaccination is slow, prime minister Narendra Modi has asked the district Collector in a meeting and action is being taken at various levels. 


Awareness for vaccination on the one hand and action on the other has been started and the Zilla Parishad has also sent proposals to the district Collector for action.
