A patient has died in india due to monkeypox. This is the first patient to die of monkeypox in the country. This youth had come to thrissur from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on 22 July. On the death of the young man, when his sample was sent for investigation, it was confirmed that his death was due to a monkeypox. The health officials of kerala confirmed the incident on Monday.

Due to the fear of monkeypox, the samples of the youth were sent to NIV Pune, which got positive results. 22-year-old Hafeez died on sunday and since then he was suspected of having monkeypox. Soon the health officials swung into action and started preparing the list of passengers arriving at the kozhikode airport.


The young man fell ill while playing

It was learned that he had four friends and his family members to welcome him at the airport. The next day he was playing football with his friends when he encountered a problem. Following the problem, he was taken to a local clinic on July 27. From there he was admitted to a hospital, and the young man died on Sunday.

The health Department has started the work of tracing all the people who came in contact with the dead. Thrissur-based state revenue minister K. Rajan said that so far 21 people have been identified as primary contacts and they have been isolated. Rajan said, "So far, there has been no report of any problem with any primary contact. However, health officials are leaving no stone unturned and high alert is on in the city.
