The telugu film industry is divided into three categories: low-budget, mid-budget, and high-budget films. Even if they wanted to, not everyone has the resources to develop large-scale films. Small films rarely draw crowds to theatres. As a result, many people who wanted to try something new could do so with mid-range films. However, those mid-budget films are now in serious difficulty as well. Until a few years ago, a mid-budget film might be completed with a total budget of Rs 20 crore.

However, the cast and crew of such films are now being paid in excess of Rs 15 crore. The film will cost another Rs 20 crore to make. In reality, among the intermediate films, there are larger films. By demonstrating a rise in non-theatrical rights, the heroes have raised their remuneration. Mid-budget heroes are no longer available for less than Rs 8 crore. According to tollywood gossip, Sai Dharam is taking Rs 8 crore, varun Tej is taking Rs 10 crore, nani is taking Rs 12 crore, sharwanand is taking Rs 8 crore, Nithiin is taking Rs 8 crore, ram is collecting Rs 12 crore, and naga Chiatanya is taking Rs 10 crore. Senior heroes, according to insiders, are also pricey these days. According to sources, venkatesh would be paid Rs 12 crore, ravi teja Rs 18 crore, and balakrishna Rs 12 crore.

DSP or Thaman are the music directors of choice for all midrange heroes. They want at least Rs 3 crore. It will cost Rs 1.5 crore if they hire a skilled cinematographer. If the filmmaker is a debutant, this is acceptable; but, if the director is well-known, the minimum salary is in excess of Rs 5 crore. If the ladies are known, their remuneration begins at Rs 75 lakh and rises to Rs 1 crore if they have a single hit. After all of these fees, they are left with only non-theatrical rights, and box office collections are at an all-time low. Losses are increasingly unavoidable as the box office for mid-budget pictures has devolved into a fortuitous bonus.
