The South cinema audiences don't require an introduction to the South indian International movie Awards (SIIMA). The planners throw a large celebration each year to formally acknowledge the South Cinema. The awards will be presented to the winners at a large ceremony that will be held by the organisers for the current edition in Bengaluru on september 10 and 11. Plans are being made to make this year's SIIMA event, which will mark its tenth anniversary, special.

The SIIMA Chair, Brinda prasad Adusumilli, has announced the SIIMA Nominations for the movies that will be released in the four South indian languages in 2021. Pushpa: The Rise (Telugu), Karnan (Tamil), Roberrt (Kannada), and Minnal Murali (Malayalam), among the movies produced in 2021, are topping the SIIMA Nominations in the majority of the popular categories for their respective languages. Pushpa: The Rise, starring Allu Arjun, currently has the most nominations (12), followed by Akhanda, starring Balakrishna, with 10 nominations. Eight nominations were given to Uppena and Jathi Ratnalu in various categories.

Mari Selvaraj's Karnan is the most nominated tamil film, with ten. With 9 nominations, Sivakarthiekyan's doctor is in second place. Kangana's Thalaivii and master by Vijay both get seven nominations. With 10 categories, "Roberrt" is the most popular in Kannada. The Garuda Gamana Eight nominations were given to Vrishabha Vahana. 'Yuvaratnaa' by the late Puneeth Rajkumar received 7 nominations.
