Summary: Ranbir Kapoor- alia Bhatt's new film Brahmastra Film critic Rohit Vats explains why it is giving competition to Hollywood.
Brahmastra movie Review: Bollywood's most awaited film 'Brahmastra' has been finally released today. This film starring ranbir kapoor and alia bhatt is directed by Ayan Mukerji. At the same time, after watching 'Brahmastra', one very interesting thing related to the film that makes it unique is that after watching it, you are not able to decide immediately whether to praise it or not. It is difficult to form an opinion about this film. However, it can be seen that this film competes with hollywood in terms of the cinema experience.
Ranbir Kapoor's character
Talking about the plot of the film, an orphan dj shiva ( ranbir kapoor ) living in mumbai meets Isha (Alia Bhatt) who has returned from abroad and both of them fall in love in a second. In between, shiva begins to feel connected to a different world and soon he finds a way to that world. It is dark here and there are many mysteries. shiva finds this world familiar, but soon he encounters several circumcised multiverse creatures. This is an unknown and full of mysteries going on between our worlds.
This film is amazing in terms of VFX
Brahmastra proves to be very spectacular in terms of visual effects. In the case of VFX, it would not be wrong to call it the best film in indian cinema. The film's CGI is no less than any hollywood sci-fi project. 3D has some drawbacks but they can be ignored.
Talking about the style of storytelling, the mythological story of a parallel universe has been told in the film. To whom are this story related to the past and the old characters? In such situations, leaving a word to the imagination at the end of an important conversation is a trick to keep the audience engaged. ayan mukerji has taken a risk in telling the story which may backfire but can also help convince the audience of 'Brahmastra' from his perspective
Ranbir also creates irritation
It is like a superhero comic book where there is a need for great animation in places with less dialogue. The fewer words the more clarity and the less distraction from the graphics. For example, Junoon (Mouni Roy) is a devotee of a Dark Lord, although she is grey-shaded but not a villain. The purpose of this character is such that you can neither call it good nor bad or villain.
The character of shiva is shown to grow slowly in the film, he becomes a fighter to save the universe from an ordinary human being. ranbir kapoor looks like a typical bollywood hero in the film which sometimes irritates him but once he is set in the plot, he also impresses. There is power in his character but he is not able to do justice to it, due to which the flow of the film gets disturbed.
Why should I get Brahmastra a chance?
Modern things like modern weapons and helicopters with mythology in the film do not seem strange. However, the duration of 161 minutes could have been shorter. Brahmastra tries hard to bring out the deep truth of mankind but this film does not reach the audience where the makers are trying. After all, Brahmastra is a luxurious film, the film has everything of a mega bollywood project. It has brought a newness. If the X-Men and the Avengers can be given a chance, then Brahmastra should also be given.
