delhi High Court. Viacom18 media filed a lawsuit stating that several websites were broadcasting the show
illegally, now the court has ordered the blocking of the infringing website and said that its content on the websites
is being illegally streamed. Broadcasting will encourage piracy.
Ban on illegal telecast of Bigg Boss
Justice Singh said that if the plaintiff finds any other website named bigg boss or any other website which is
telecasting the plaintiff's programs illegally, then an application will be filed impleading these websites. The court
said that if such websites which also use the name bigg boss are allowed, it will lead to piracy and unauthorized
broadcasting, which will cause huge loss to the plaintiffs.
The court said that if objectionable websites are not controlled, it will cause harm. If such rapidly growing
websites, which also use the Big Boss name, are allowed, it will lead to piracy and unauthorized dissemination,
causing huge loss to the plaintiffs. The court said this while directing the concerned authorities to block the
infringing websites.
